Varsha Bakshani

A decade of turning research into shipped design.

At Google, she led the redesign of Cloud Platform's monitoring dashboards, running competitive research against Grafana and Datadog, mapping the mental models behind chart creation, and turning those insights into a full-screen configuration system built to scale as features grew. On a second team, she reimagined how artist managers and music programmers pitch and review music for YouTube, running stakeholder workshops, feature-prioritization surveys, and A/B tests to take Maximizer and SoundBoard from sketch to shipped product.

At Microsoft, she helped extend Viva Topics' AI-powered knowledge graph into SharePoint, working through paper prototypes and design-studio sessions to surface non-Microsoft content sources without adding friction for users already stretched thin.

At CHANEL, she designed across both the website and the app for a single global e-commerce experience, balancing the needs of fashion and beauty shoppers across regions and internal divisions. Every direction was validated through competitive research, cross-functional review, and A/B testing before it reached the core product on either platform.

At Warner Music, she rebuilt a first-generation artist-reporting tool from the ground up, gathering direct user requests, confirming feasibility with the data team, and iterating hi-fi prototypes through real-data testing, landing on a redesign that grew new users while cutting session time.

Across all of it, the throughline is the same: plan the research, find the real problem, and turn what's learned into something a cross-functional team (engineering, product, brand, leadership) can rally around and ship.
